Sahra Huby was born in Brussels where she studied dance and movement. After she finished dance therapy training with Stefane Chapelle (2000-2003) and explored butoh dance (in many courses and workshops), she studied the method of Lecoq (corporeal theatre, movement studies, acrobatics, Feldenkrais) at the Ècole Internationale de Théâtre Lassaad (2002-2003).
From October 2004 to April 2006 she pursued a contemporary dance training at the Etage Berlin. Since April 2006 she freelances as a dancer with several choreographers and teaches in Germany and Belgium.
As a dancer, she explores a language that is neither purely dance nor purely “theatrical,” but which is a search for an open and transparent body. A body that can work with other systems of thought and motion, that can act and react freely, move between motion and inertia, between the exterior and the interior. She collaborates frequently with choreographer Anna Konjetzky (Cie. Anna Konjetzky).
